Gee, it has been soo long since i have blogged!! heres the latest :)
I have taken the strip off the doctor put on there, i did that thursday, and it still has a hole but its not as bad, i cant make the ends meet either, so just going to let it heal now, i have nothing on it, letting it dry out :) All other wounds are great :)
Brads sister didnt end up coming down, we rang her thursday night, asked her if she still wanted to come, her reply "nah can i come next weekend?" brad wasn't happy as he hasnt seen her for ages, hasnt spent time with her for ages etc and she said no. He said no she cant come down next weekend, as he starts back at work this week, and he will be stuffed come the weekend, he has had 4 weeks off, so understandable. Means we not going up there next weekend either :P oh, and his mum knows about my op now :) he told her when on the phone.
I will be blogging more over the weekend, as we have no tv, and its verry boring :( we had massive winds yesterday, i went shopping with mum and came home, pulled into carport and saw the bloody ariel on the ground!!! it got blown off! i rang the real estate at 10:15am, told them, they said they have had alot of calls etc the maitanace man is busy etc i said thats fine, thinking it would get fixed that day. Well today is saturday and it is still on the ground, and it is bent, so either they need to straighten it, or buy a new ariel now :) We did go to kmart and get one of them little ones, but dont work, so looks like dvds tonight!
When went shopping yesterday, was looking for clothes for mum to get me for xmas, i tried on a top the size under me now, (im 26 top and i tried on 20-22) and it fitted!!! OMFG!! So i put a 18 on layby :P if it dont fit by xmas i grow down to it, i got a 18 pants aswell, im a 24-26 pants now and im constantly pulling my jeans up but i loves them, they so comfy i dont want to stop wearing them haha so making the most :P
I seriously feel like going to the beach and swimming, but i cant due to the wound that is open abit still :( it has been nice as weather lately aswell! I think we might go for a drive down that way today, and go for a walk in the water :) i want to look at the fresh fish place down there aswell so all is good!
I am on fish now, so far i have had small tin tuna, with mayo and some sweet chilli sauce mixed in, a peice of grilled fish from fish and chip shop with tarte sauce, a peice of fish from in town in batter but took batter off, with sauce again, umm and last night i had a chicken parmy at pub and have had no probs, i couldnt eat it all last night, didnt touch the chips but mum had a glass of coke there incase it got stuck etc no probs with others either!
Ok gotta go, going out with mum and gotta get dressed haha

Abit of glue and hey presto!!
Today the steri-strips came off, all went well, until i got to the last one. It had abit of dry blood on it so i did it slowly for some reason, im bloody glad i did!! THERE WAS A HOLE!!!!! i freaked, rang mum "ummm i took the strips off, and one has a hole, come take me to the doctors i dont want a big ugly scar!!!" so told me her and dad were in town, and she will meet me at the doctors. Deal! Me and brad headed to the drs, met mum there waited an hour and went in to see him.
"good thing you came in melissa, go lie up on the couch and i will have a look" he had his look and goes ok i will be back in a minute, walks out of the room and comes back with some glue!!! He put some glue in the hole, pushed it together then put some more strips on it and off i go :)
I was soo freaked out haha! i mean seriously its been over a week it was meant to be healed :( not a hole the size of 5c peice!!!
I am starting mushies tomorrow, i bought some brocolli today to have for tea tomorrow night aswell as some spuds, will make a white sauce for it :) cant be bothered making 2 lots of sauces so white it is :P brad will be glad as i can start cooking him meals with vegies, he wont be living on pies, his own made curried snags, frozen meals i made or have to go to mums for a meal haha! i told him if he that bored of it, go to his mums for the last week of his holidays! he said no and shut up haha! that got him :P
Mum, dad and brad had chinese for tea, so i got a chicken and sweet corn soup for tea, it had chicken bits in it and i had no problems with it :) was nice actually :P
Anyways im off, i want to control the tv he watching crap!!

Hungry Hungry Hippo's!
Man i am getting hungry!!!! Yes, i know i am supposed to at some point, but i mean its bugging me!!! haha! I have already started thickening up my soups, have been having a yogurt for breakfast instead of a Up & Go, but its the time of night like now that i feel hungry :(
On the paperwork i got from the dietician when i left the hosp, it has the stage after liquids, which has a sample meal plan, for the first week it says ....
Breakfast :
Well-cooked porridge or semolina, or weet-bix with plenty of milk
Lunch and dinner :
Thick soup or mashed/pureed veg
Thick custard or mashed tinned fruit, or mashed stewed fruit, or low fat Fruche/yogurt.
So im stuck, i dont know if im still on liquids, or if i am on the next stage or if i am in between stages? i mean dietician said to thicken it up, and have the yogurts but ohh i dont know!! haha!
So what else has been happening? Rental Inspection today, went well, we put down a few things on the maitence report thingy they gave us, like new carpet! we bloody better get it!! i hate this carpet, i can vac and 2 seconds later its dirty again!! and it is BLUE AND GREEN!!! and we have ORANGE blinds :S talk about the 70's!! Anyways back to the story :P as i havent been able to clean really since op, we called in back up this morning when we had 2 hours till the time to go (we dont stay for these) we called in mum! haha! she folded our endless supply of clean clothes that we have been washing (brad was in a clothes washing stage and washed everything) so that was good :)
My steri-strips are starting to come off, and omg they are annoying me!! the port one is coming unstuck from the middle in, hmmmph, annoyance there :P they come off on sunday anyways, bring on sunday!!
Anyways im watching bridget jones! haha yes i know! but i likes it :)

One week ago today .......
It has already been a week!! man time flys when your having fun hey!! Im getting over the soups etc tho cant wait for mushies stage!! I had pumpkin soup i made before banding tonight that i froze, and omg i couldnt eat it, when i froze it, it was nice a creamy now its all watery :S i think i might have to make some more!!
Apparently my cheek's aint as fat haha! mum told me today, she told nanna whilst on the phone to her and i heard nanna say "yeah well when you left here the other day, i told susan (aunt) that it looks like she has lost weight from her ass as her jeans are really baggy!!" hahaha! dag and a half! I got weighed today, i will post the results at the end of this blog!!
Anyone watch the news tonight and see about that kid getting the primary school in "lock down" mode? haha, i shouldnt laugh but i know the kid, when mum took in my cousin (he is feral i dont like him) he made friends with this kid, anyways he went to the school on tuesday i think to get his siblings and the school ended up in lock down mode, and has been locked up ever since! haha! gold!! apparently he was defending his mum, i know the family personally, and trust me, they have had worse things said to them that what was said, and nothing like this has ever happened, its just attention seeking! BTW, this kid is 11 years old! he is short, and is all talk no bite!
I took nanna to her heart excersice place today, the guy there hasnt seen me for yonks, and goes "what you done melissa, you have lost some weight" nanna let out my secret, he said thats awesome! Nanna told him about the weigh in this morning, and he was even more happy for me :)
Tomorrow is rental inspection day, they say they being here between 11-1 so we going over to mums or out somewhere, i dont like staying here when they come, we have wrote down things that need repairing and will leave that on the bench or coffee table for them :) If they do not replace our carpet this time, i am going to ring them and go ballistic! We have been here over 2 years, and had the same carpet problems since, it is old (blue and green) and worn out, the underlay has deterioated, and has formed lumps, i have several times tripped over them and they are getting worse, we want new carpet!!!
Ok, so this blog is coming to an end as i am running out of things to type about so here is my weigh in this morning ....
Dad goes to a weight loss place, and i went along this morning to jump on the scales as im curious, i went in with dad as he got weighed, we explained to them i have had a lap band put in, (i went to the club for like 3 years to no avail!) and they said yeah sure jump on lets see how your going ..... i lost ..... SIX KILOS!!!!! OMG!! i called mum over to read out the number as i didnt believe it, and they are the same sort of scales they use at my surgeons aswell :) so i hope that this weight continues to drop off!! the last time i got weighed was wednesday last week :) so i wore my same clothes i wore back then haha!
Anyway, time to go, i have stuff to do!

I have the rumbles!!!!
My soups aren't really filling me as much now, i have started to thicken them up, i had one that nanna made me for tea tonight, it had little peices of ham in it that the blender missed and i chewed that and it was fine, tomorrow night im going to try the pumpkin soup i made, see how that goes, but its not really straw suckable so if i have probs i will thin out abit :)
This gas that escapes is annoying me! me and mum went to bingo tonight, i got a little box of milk think and OMG the burps just sneaking out! lucky i had a feeling of it and had mouth closed so wasnt a noisy one (that happened at nannas other night and OMG she cracked up)
Healing wise, i am doing great! I have thought about going back to the gym this week, just light stuff, like treadmill and light bike so dont go over doing it, im going to ring the Personal Trainer tomorrow, and book in fora bout 6 weeks time, that gives me time to go from a slob to atleast some fitness and not look so bad haha!
Brad went to melbourne today, he has been bored on his holidays, i dont like melbourne, i dont like getting trains to melbourne, i dont like melbourne, too many bad bloody memories! if i am with atleast 2 people i trust fully i am fine (casino trip was good as i had mum AND brad with me!) anyways, he gets home, i asked how it went, what he did etc ..... "oh i didnt do much, i went to galatic circus at crown, played a few games there, looked around at myers, cos you know i love myers and there one is soo much bigger than ours!!, oh and i had "donalds" for lunch" i asked did he go to melbourne just so he could have a burger from maccas for lunch and not make me feel bad about it? he said no but it would have been funny as if he said yes hey! HAHA! i honestly dont miss junk food, the one thing i miss is steak :( i have been craving it all week haha! MMMMM surf and turf!!!
I think everyone has seen my wounds now haha! nearly everyone i know that knows about it (not really that many) when they see me i get the "oh how you going, let me see how they did it" i show them and i get the "IS THAT IT!!" im like yep! "serious?" next time i get that im going to say "nah i made the big open cut disapear and i have 5 small cuts on my stomach in its place" Mums supervisor is the best, as they work at recycling place i not allowed to show her inside incase i get it dirty haha, i have to go outside in the carpark and show her, she has seen it twice now i think, she is obsessed but she is awesome :P
I am going to be taking my measurements tomorrow, i have been lazy and havent done it yet, i also have a pic on here that brad took before i had the op but dont show how big i really am, so will do some soon aswell and post them aswell! Dad is looking forward for his fit marching girl back apparently haha!
Anyways thats enough from me, im going to watch all saints from tonight, last weeks didnt work I had the show but no sound, stupid old tape, i told him to put the old set top box back that records!! but has he done it yet? NOOOOOO!!!

a few days in one!
Ok, so here is whats been happening lately....
Saturday night, i went and seen BABBA with my parents, was actually good :) i enjoyed it, the only parts i didnt enjoy were the trapped gas pains i was getting and the wearing jeans when bloated stomach pains aswell haha! Everytime dad wanted a beer i went up and got it just so i could move around, i didnt want to get up and dance, me and dancing dont go sorry :) Although dad was keen i said nah haha.
Sunday was a lazy day mum had to go to the docs, so i went aswell as my top dressings were to come off and the port one looked funny, and the steri-strips under it were starting to lift and they not really meant to come off till next sunday surgeon said. Doc said all is fine, the strips can fall off when they are ready and it wont matter :) but DAMN when he took the top dressing off (i left it on to show him haha) man did it stink! i nearly chucked! *puts on a pommy accent* No melissa, they are healing nicely, im glad you took my advice and got the surgery done, i cant wait to see the results"
Rest of sunday i did nothing major, slept abit (its all i been doing lately) had a shower to wash the stinkyness off them strips and watched some tv last night, went to bed about 9ish i think.
Today i have to go to safeway to get some benefiber, i know im going to need it :) Brad has hardly been eating since i have had this done, as he dont like cooking for one haha so last night he made up a big batch of curried snags (his fave!) and made enough for tea tonight aswell as some left overs i think haha. He wants me to ask the surgeon when i see him on 12 sep "when is melissa allowed to eat curried sausages again?" hahaha dag he is, at the moment im quite enjoying the liquid phase :) For breakfast im having a glass of AJ or OJ and a up and go, for lunch im having Glass of Juice or V8 box thing, a cup of soup and a glass of sustagen or milk with nesquick in it and tea is Glass of juice, a "soup for one" tin of soup and glass of milk or i might swap that for a ice cream square, you know them individually wrapped ones? And then drinking water during the day!
Might go visit nanna today, she rang up yesterday seeing how i was going and since he still on hols, he is bored so the drive out there will be good for both of us i think :P furtherest i been for a drive since being done is town, and nannas is on other side of town :)

Fat belly Friday!!
I AM HOME!!!! YAY!!!
I got wheeled up to theater at 10:05 yesterday was outside the room for about 30 mins i would say. then i remember waking up in recovery to "Melissa, calm down and stop moving!!" apparently i was "thrashing about" hmmm!
Get back to room, and see my mate on way down there, she nurse in the hosp, then mum and brad come up, mum goes "how you feeling?" i go "I sore!" brad laughed and said i told you she would say that! haha they went home had abit of a rest. then the night time visitors came up, Nanna, and 3 of my aunts and my cousin. then mum and amy! yes ... Amy! i showed everyone else my cuts except for amy, i showed them when she was in the toilet haha!
The nurse gave me a tablet up the butt! anti inflamatry/pain killer apparently, i asked "cant i have a oral dose?" apparently she said its absorbed quicker this way! GRRR! reney i know how you felt about the finger up bum! that didnt even help! GRRR! Then i get another one this morning and find out the DR wrote them up for twice a day! so i quickly asked if i can go home today to stop that happening again! invading my privacy!!
I havent taken nothing for the pain since i been home, i been walking about, resting, i find my bed more comfier than their straight beds! and man the gas! i can now clear the room with a fart hahaha! according to brad "your rotten" not my fault :P

Its time!!!
So i have an hour to be ready to leave, and i still have to have a shower with that foamy stuff, get dressed and pack my bag! Hmmm i think i better type faster! haha!
I have honestly been checking if my forehead is hot, i know stupid, but i dont want to go through that again, and guess what ...... Its NORMAL!! yay!! I have the sniffles, but ask anyone who is around me when i first get up and i have the sniffles, i dont know why, it just happens, dad used to hate it, he still does if i go over there after just getting up haha! My cough has settled YAY so all good!! looks like attempt 2 is going to be progress!!
I enjoyed my sleep last night until brad came to bed with soooo many things to say "doing it by keyhole is good isnt it, as it wont take as long to heal hey!" "are you ready for it bubs?" we watched the thing on today tonight about it, so he saw how it is done properly haha! he thinks he is coming up to the hosp this morning, he went to bed 3:30am and im leaving here 7:30 so not much sleep! ill wake him when im nearly ready and find out then :)
Straw-diet wise, i think im ready! i have everything i think. We had pizza last night, as i wanted a nice last meal for a while :P i cant believe it i had 3 peices and i was full as full can be!! i can normally eat more than that i know it!! so now brad has about 1 1/2 pizzas to eat whilst im in there haha! saves him using the meals i froze!
Mum just rang, she getting me 7:15AM!! DAMN!! cuts 15 mins off my time!! and brad is staying here now "cos janet might wait till you have your operation" i said yeah!
Anyways i best be off, will post again when im out of hosp!!!

I have honestly been checking if my forehead is hot, i know stupid, but i dont want to go through that again, and guess what ...... Its NORMAL!! yay!! I have the sniffles, but ask anyone who is around me when i first get up and i have the sniffles, i dont know why, it just happens, dad used to hate it, he still does if i go over there after just getting up haha! My cough has settled YAY so all good!! looks like attempt 2 is going to be progress!!

one sleep to go!! *again*
Today i going to be washing all my clothes i taking in with me tomorrow, make sure i have everything done :P I have to be at nannas at 11:15am to take her to the docs, her appt is 12pm, she lives 15 min drive from the place if even that, she always wants me there early as! hmmmph!
I was going to go to docs this morning to take the letter from the hosp when i fainted etc, and for a check up, but mum took james (bro) in, and lucky i didnt!! He has a highly contagious flu, that you get only 4 times in your life apparently, can knock you around for 2-4 weeks! i think thats what i had last time! so he not allowed to go near old people or children. So as mum as been looking after him she cant come to nannas :( i dont like driving out there on my own! it sucks! i will have to turn cd up hey :)
Am waiting for the call today to find out what time to go in tomorrow, will prob be 12:30 like last time, and im going to ask the woman if i am first or second on the list, i really hope i am first, i dont want to have to wait around haha, last time i was first but it never happened!! I am so not looking forward to that foam wash thing again! i hated it last time, i had to get out of shower (we have a small shower, and being bigger dont help either haha) and do it out there! and plus the hot water tap leaks when its on, and if you bend over it burns ya bum and feels like a spider biting you, even happens to brad haha!
I went to safeway yesterday, bought some panadol rapid souluable, some little v8 juices, they had 5 for $4, i asked brad if i should buy 1 lot or 2, he said considering i have so much stuff here , i think only 1, if i want more he can go get them now :P I still have me up and go's in the fridge aswell as the bottle of v8 juice and ALLLL me soups in freezer :P
I told brad he can buy pizza for tea tonight, i bought him maccas the other night, so he can buy me pizza :P thats a deal hey!
well i best be off, gotta go get dressed etc and go clean out the car, (verry messy has catalouges in it haha) then go get nanna!

3 sleeps to go!!
Incase i haven't already told you, i have stopped the TF shakes until after my op. They were making me WAY tired and when im that tired i am snappy as, and poor brad was getting all that snappyness :( After op i will have 1 shake a day i think maybe every 2nd day aswell i dont know, i havent thought that bit through yet :)
My brother is sick, he went to tassie, came home and had to go straight to doctors. He has a BAD chest infection aswell as a BAD flu, so he not good :( Dads words to me where "you cant afford to get sick, i cant afford to get sick, so we both have to stay away from him ok?" i said yes dad and smiled haha. But in a way he has a point there hey? James has been banished to his bedroom mum told me, I said if i end up going over there whilst he still sick i will wear one of them face masks they wear when they have deadly diseases in the air, you know the sort? haha!
I going to go to supermarket soon, get some of them little V8 juices in tetra packs, i dont want that big bloody bottle in my fridge :P brad can drink that i think thats all i need to buy so far, have the up and go's have 6 of them in fridge, have about 6l of soup in the freezer haha if i want anything else i will send mum or brad to the shop :P I have chupa chups and de-gas aswell already in my bag from last time :P and them hideous TED's man they can shove them where the sun dont fit! Do you have to wear them after the op aswell? someone told me you do for a few days, i dont see brad putting them on me after i have a shower etc, he will laugh at them or something :(
Im going to Babba with mum and dad on saturday night, i going to take pain tabs with me, incase i need them. I have my outfit all planned out, either my black cleavagey top (i not a cleavagey person so i doubt that one) or the white and black one, and my black jeans most likely :) but im worried about bra as my surgeon puts the port near bra line so hmmmm! will have to see there!
I still have my cough from my sickness, its bugging me, i thought it went away but its still here, i have the "i feel like im going to gag and need to cough" thing 2, was telling brad to shut up and stop teasing me (i forget what he was doing haha) and i was like "shut upppphphph" as i had that gagging moment and then he got worse cos i sounded like daffy duck apparently, he is walking around all day doing it now! GRRR! mum was in back of car and made her laugh aswell :( they not very nice are they! NOO!

Mel did a bad bad thing ......
Ok ok, so i had it all planned, Melissa was going to start Tony Fergurson on thursday right? Well all went along as planned until ......... I go check the PO box, and there is a slip to pick up a parcel...... so i proceed ....... it was a MASSIVE and i mean MASSIVE bag of lollies :O hahaha! one of my good mates from the internet works in a lolly place, so decided to send me lollies. Yes i had my shake for breakfast, felt good about starting it and getting ready for this op then this happens! Thanks kate!! haha
Although brad has claimed most of them (as they mostly toy ones with like a etch sketch on end, soccer kicking ones etc) i have claimed the white choc easter egg things that she put in :O So tomorrow is really the day, no more care parcels (as she calls them haha) kate!! well not for a long time anyways :P i mean the lollies have shut brad up for most of the day so thats a good thing hey?
I went for a drive to melb airport today to take my brother there, he in tassie now :) Touring with his band mates, free accom, free meals at the gigs, free booze, free transport, i think the only thing he needed to pay for was the airfare! how good is that! haha Nanna came to, so no heart excercise place for her, honestly i dont think she likes it, i mean she is 80 next year, half her heart dont work, only 1 kidney works, they wont operate on her as she wont make it out of the anistetic and they expect her to do these excercises? no wonder she makes exscuses up! yes they may be easy, but you try doing it at her age and in her condition! PFFT!
I should be getting my tax back tomorrow!! yay!! plus we got $100 worth of target vouchers, having $50 each, i dont know if i should save mine for after my op, or use them now? :P i mean i could always buy my dream top or something? or buy new knickers or something? help me decide please :P

An update ......
We finally paid the surgeon today, and his assistant as in the office but diff buildings, does that make sense? haha We got a week of Tony Fergurson aswell, i got all shakes i didnt want no soups, i will have enough of that when i get banded i think :P the flavours i got are : 2 x banana, 2 x chocolate 2 x english toffee 2 x french vanilla 1 x pina colada 2 x strawberry and cream 1 x tropical mango and 2 x wild berry. Got them, the weight managent book, and the "lifetime membership" all up it was about $70! GEEZ!
As i have a BMI over 40, i have a "differnt" plan than the skinnier people haha, looking over it im thinking how am i going to eat that much? i dont even eat half of that NOW and im fat! :O "suggested program" is as follows:
Breakfast : 1 shake
Morning tea : 1 allowed fruit
Lunch : Salad made from allowed vegies plus one serve of protein either meat, fish, eggs or chicken
2PM : 1 shake
Afternoon tea : 1 allowed fruit
Dinner: 3 cups allowed vegies or salad plus one serve of palm sized protein.
then you can have more vegies and as much diet jelly as you want!! no way am i going to be able to eat all that haha! What do they think i am, a pig? just because i am fat, dont mean i eat that much! But then i guess it gets metabolism going dont it? i rarely have breakfast, rarely have lunch and just have tea, maybe thats why im fat? haha but im honestly not hungry during the day and its not as if i have a big serve at tea time, i have a normal serve, brad has more than me, he eats more than me and he SKINNY! hmmph!
Im glad i can still have steak on this tho, i bought some in grocerys last week and we havent had it yet, i will get him to buy more this week aswell :P we have to empty freezer out first, they both full of soups, cant wait to get banded so i can use them up and make room in freezers haha!
When paying the money this morning, surgeon's receptionist goes "hope your feeling better now melissa?" i said yes. Then mum told her what happened the next day how i passed out, was in ED for over 8 hours etc, and she was like "gee, arent you lucky you didnt have it done then" im like yes, "oh make sure you look after yourself,and dont go getting sick again, we dont want to have to make another date for you" i was about to tell her to shut up and dont jinx me! haha!
I had to ring the tax office today, as i havent got my refund back yet! i did it 3 weeks ago or more! "sorry there is a problem" i said what problem? "oh the paper returns you did can take up to 8 weeks" i thought they were done over 8 weeks ago tho :S stupid not working, studying not getting no money and you still have to do a bloody tax return :S hmph! So if i havent heard back in 14 days which will be the 20th, i have to ring them again! then that made me realise it is nearly time for my op :O its only next week!!! YAY!!!
Anyways im off, im bored, i feel like cleaning, and thats not me :S
